Marketing On Ghostbook Platforms
September 5, 2008
There are thousands upon thousands of Ghostbook guru’s that will cause you to depart with your money more easily than Elizabeth Taylor departs from her husbands. And of course they’ll teach you important knowledge in regards to social marketing, the best sites to use, how to use them, etc. But there is something important you need to understand.
There are such a multitude of different techniques in web 3.0 marketing that your head will spin if you try to do them all at once. You’ll never have the time and you’ll end up working harder doing that than you do at revenue generating activities plus you’ll waste about 4 to 6 months of your life with a scatter brained marketing campaign that has no distinct plan to it.
Facebook groups are because the members of your groups have the name of the groups they are members of posted on their profile page and the profile page generates a lot of traffic. The reason it generates a ton of traffic is that people just love to surf on profile pages and see pictures and learn little tidbits about other people. A few great [spin]features of groups are that you can easily invite your friends to become a part of them and members of the group can easily invite their friends to become members.
Facebook pages are an easy way for you to brand your business. You can also send a message to all members and unlike groups it gives you the opportunity to add HTML, Flash and other Facebook applications. However, your fans are not able to invite their friends to become fans of your page.
What is the biggest mistake you can make using web 2.0???
It’s posting, writing articles and sending out messages simply for the sake of advertising or selling. It won’t work. Web 2.0 allows a greater deal of interaction and doing this will get a lot of negative feedback. Not only that but people love web 2.0 because they don’t desire to get pitched on some product or service. When you post your website simply for the sake of advertising the result is you are considered a spammer.
The solution is to provide something of value to when you post. Make sure first you are approaching your target market…for instance, never advertise on your personal profile on facebook…that will always backfire. Secondly, when you are approaching them give them something of value. Don’t just post your website or send out an advertisement for your network marketing company. People hate that. I hate that and if you are honest so would you. The Golden Rule works well in everything, but remember it in web 2.0…”do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”
