Brainstorming Ideas to Create Your Information Product Empire
After you’ve made the decision to sell information products on the internet, you must conduct some niche research to find out which target audience you are going to mine for profits.
You cannot limit yourself to a single product for a narrow niche audience and expect to gain financial security for the long term from one product. Instead, you have to tap into a niche with enough possibilities to make product development worthwhile.
Let’s say you decided to create a wedding planning guide in eBook form as your first information product. If you’re new to the business, then you might instantly think of creating a massive info product that covers everything in detail, from A to Z.
But let’s look at it from a marketer’s business point of view. You are going to put the effort into driving traffic to your site and will hopefully have at least a 2% conversion rate for your information products. Why waste that effort of time and advertising money on a single sale of $47 when you could easily turn that customer into a lifetime profit stream?
How best to do this? Information products are designed to serve specific needs of your target audience. A bride and groom have many separate issues to consider. You can produce dozens of guides that focus on those needs.
At times, however, a single comprehensive product is the best way to go. After all, they should ideally only need to get married once. On the other hand, they may need specialized information rather than a more expensive comprehensive book. For instance, information on shopping for a wedding cake, or home made bridesmaids gifts for the bride on a budget.
After you deliver your first great information product to your customer, you will have them on your mailing list. You can then market your follow up or back end products to them. This is where the big money in information marketing is hiding because your marketing expenses are almost non-existent and your sales conversion rates are higher for that customer who is already in your fold.
Be sure that before implementing your info product ideas, you investigate to make sure your proposed niche leaves you the opportunity to branch out with other product ideas and more profitable solutions to your customers’ problems.
